The special effects were amazing. But the real genius of this movie come from the fact that there are great actors working with a great script. Christian Bale has given another fine performance and it's really gotten to the point where I can't tell if he's an amazingly talented actor that can do mediocre work which everyone else perceives to be fantastic or whether he has actually consistently been working hard to come out with one fine performance after another. The rest of the cast, oldman, freeman, caine, and eckhart all give fantastic performances as always. And maggie gyllenhall also holds her own against some of hollywoods finest. But it's heath ledgers turn as the joker that is going to be talked about for years to come. I know I can't forget it. The writing for the joker in this film is a notch above the rest. This words that come out of the jokers mouth are at times so haunting that you get chills. And heath ledgers brings a madness to the character that will make this one of the all time great performances. This movie is fantastic in every aspect. I know it won't be considered for a best picture Oscar probably but I think it is far more deserving than some art-house flick being released in the last five days of the year: Bloody fantastic movie! I will be back in the theater for a second viewing this weekend.
Wow. I've just come from a midnight screening of this movie and that's the only word I can come up with. This latest batman film really outdid the last one and I think all other comic book films ever made. Christopher Nolan is a genius! The way he uses the camera to give the feeling that Gotham City is nothing but a barren land of skyscrapers is fantastic.
